Dear Rushwood Families,

Happy Second Semester!

We are excited to welcome back all students, including students returning to school from Option 2. I am sure your classmates are excited for your return.

The PTA board has been busy planning a brand new calendar of virtual events for this semester! We have a lot of fun events planned including Forensics night, a snowman building contest, a magician, character story night, a zookeeper, an art scavenger hunt, book fair, and an end of the year bonfire.  One of the most exciting events planned is the Drive-In Movie on March 20, 2021 at 7:30pm.  All of these events will be free and open to all Rushwood families!

We are also hopeful for the possibility of a few in-person outdoor events at the end of the school year.  While these events are tentatively scheduled, we will wait and see what the spring brings to determine if the events can be held safely.  Stay tuned!

Some of our upcoming events such as the drive in movie, teacher appreciation week, book fair, family bonfire, etc are in need of committee members to help with planning the event.  All committee planning meetings will be done virtually. We hope you will sign up to volunteer and help us plan a special event for our students, staff, and families!

Thank you to everyone who has participate in one or more of our fundraisers this year! Whether you supported the Stoller Pastry Fundraiser, a Rushwood “Knight,” or the Virtual Holiday Fair, we appreciate your support during these difficult times!

With the money we have raised from these fundraising events, we have been able to provide Rushwood students with free pumpkins, mask lanyards, virtual events and prizes, a Valentine’s day craft, Millionaire minute prizes, and the upcoming Drive-in Movie. We have also been able to provide our staff with back to school breakfast,  a small holiday treat, teacher classroom mini-grants, and a new heavy-duty laminator for the school! We are also planning to make some improvements to the playground area this spring!  Without your support, we would never be able to provide these items and opportunities to our students and staff!
